Country: Chile

Discipline: Performance

Length: 30 minutes

Language: Español Spanish

This collaborative staging in a public space was created at a residency in Valparaíso, through interdisciplinary performing strategies. It contemplates the participation of approximately 80 women and people from the LGBTQIA+ community of different ages and training, in a creative lab process. The piece attempts to translate some ideas by Judith Butler, Paul B. Preciado and María Lugones, by means of a performance device that is supported in the bodies and experiences of the participants. In the antagonism between repression and pleasure, death and festivity, denouncement and resistance, the performance tries to address the vindication of the right to a life free from violence, in an active context of colonization and extractivism.

The work is a coproduction of Fundación Teatro a Mil (FITAM), Parque Cultural Ex-Cárcel, in Valparaíso, and Hebbel am Ufer theater (Germany). Premiere date: 07 March 2021, at Santiago a Mil International Festival.
