The year is 2077. As humanity struggles to survive — battered by economic collapse and the effects of climate change — part of the population now lives in exile on Mars. Back on Earth, a father fights to stay connected with his daughter, who has moved to the Red Planet.
La Distance is a small, intimate story adrift in the vastness of space. Through this dystopian — yet not impossible — setting, Tiago Rodrigues explores the consequences of our choices and the fragile bridge of communication between generations. The artist brings two worlds into orbit, imagining their dialogue as a series of calls stretched across an almost infinite distance. Joining him are actors Adama Diop and Alison Dechamps, in an interplanetary duet that spins like two celestial bodies — endlessly drifting apart and back together again.
