Leading figures in aerial circus in Chile
This Chilean group has been dedicated to the contemporary circus arts since 2001, starting out as the La Reina Aerial Workshop, a place for research and training into aerial disciplines. In 2012, the Aerial Arts Center (AAC) was created as a place for training and artistic creation at the Aldea del Encuentro in La Reina. The group’s plays include La gravedad de Newton (2005), Entremillones (2008), Transeúntes (2011), Movimiento sagrado (2014) and Impulso (2017). Their pieces have been performed in Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela and South Korea and they have toured throughout Chile.
—New circus: Also called contemporary circus or nouveau cirque, this performing arts genre emerged in the second half of the twentieth century and, among other things, usually puts the story at the center of its creation and tells it using different circus techniques and disciplines. The focus is on creating an esthetic impact and on staging that tells a story, sometimes using theatrical techniques.
—Aerial theater: This is defined as a discipline that blends element of physical theater and acrobatics to tell a story.

Circo Balance puts on a contemporary circus show for adults, lighting up the night with color, movement and sensuality. Inspired by cabaret and burlesque, this show offers a new kind of circus, with theatrical elements accompanying and complementing the artists as they perform each of their numbers (pole dancing, aerial hoops, aerial chains, vertical ropes and the cyr wheel, among others). Technical mastery fuses with both the narrative and eroticism in sensual scenes, full of glamour and sparkle, turning up the temperature and taking over the stage. During the function, the attendees can enjoy tapas and champagne as they are subtlety invited to take part and join the cast.
